WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC?
Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, and the effects of these disorders on an individual’s general health.
Chiropractors practice a drug-free, hands-on approach to health care that includes patient examination, diagnosis, and treatment. Chiropractors have broad diagnostic skills, including a combination of orthopedic, neurologica,l and radio-diagnostic techniques to fully assess a patient's condition. Doctors of Chiropractic are also trained to recommend and administer therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises and physical therapy modalities as well as to provide nutritional, workplace-ergonomic, and lifestyle counseling.
While it is often percieved that chiropractors treat solely neck and back pain, chiropractors deal with neuromusculoskeletal complaints most often as well as significant issues like headaches, headaches, complex chronic pain conditions, rheumatoid and osteo-arthritis, vertigo, colic and other chronic afflictions.
Chiropractic focuses on looking at the human body in a wholistic way. The brain controls our bodies through its connections with the spinal cord and the vast networks of nerves connected to our muscles, tissues and organs. When this system suffers from injury, inflammation, joint restriction, muscle asymmetry, or poor posture that puts pressure on nerves, the body's overall performance suffers. Fortunately, the body is self-sustaining and has the ability to heal itself under the proper conditions.
At House of Health, we strive to provide quality treatment based on each individual's specific needs and health goals.
Our treatment plans include educating patients on how to achieve and maintain optimal health through chiropractic techniques, nutrition, and rehabilitative exercise.
